Fortune Framer is a custom framing studio located in Charlotte, NC that specializes in modern hardwood frames. When you walk into your big box frame stores, there are hundreds of moulding samples on the wall and yet none of them fit your modern aesthetic. At Fortune Framer, you won’t see any of those out-of-date options because we do not use them. Our frames are not shipped from a factory overseas, they are created by hand for every object. We create modern profiles out of Walnut, Oak, Ash, Cherry, and Maple. Our mission is to provide high quality, natural hardwood framing specific to every client. Because the artwork that you buy is unique to you, so your framing should be as well.

OUR HEAD FRAMER

Fortune Framer is led by Rachel Dressel. She began her career in the arts as an Art Historian, receiving a Master’s degree from Bryn Mawr College focusing on the history of photography and working in special collections. Her interests moved into custom framing when she was working at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. After her work in Philly was done, she moved back home to Charlotte, NC and began working in local custom frame shops. She learned the art of custom framing as well as expert preservation practices, becoming a sought after craftsman for fine art and archival framing. Rachel believes that modern framing does not have to be lifeless. She provides framing that fits contemporary design aesthetics, but also provides a unique twist. These details can be a colorful corner spline or a patterned bevel in a mat. Her frames are high quality, unique, and shine in the details.
